POMIDA was founded in Athens on 1983, and it represents and defends the interests of all house and real estate property owners of the country and of all Greeks living abroad. Almost 40 associations from the whole country are members of Hellenic Property Federation which is member of the International Union of Property Owners (Union Internationale de la Propriete Immobiliere - UIPI).POMIDA is directed by 15-member board, chaired by its founder Mr. Stratos J. Paradias, Lawyer in Athens. During the more than 20 years of action and important successes, POMIDA had always a moderate approach in the social subjects related to property possession, exploitation and taxation, continuous and effective action, mobilisation of property owners all over the country and more than two decades of annual panhellenic and international congresses. The greatest achievement was the progressive and successful abolition of rents control in both residential and commercial rentals, the improvement of relations between landlords and tenants, while continuous is the collaboration with all state and local authorities for the resolution of countless problems related to real estate property such as taxation, urban planning, historical buildings, forestall property, and property problems in apartment buildings. |

The members are briefed orally and issued printed informative material (laws, circulars, copies for rental contracts etc.) for all current subjects (hires, tax, etc.) as well as the magazine “NEWS of PROPERTY OWNERS”. The central information office is open daily 10-2 p.m. and afternoon each Monday and Thursday 5-8 p.m. All the written material is available to the members of POMIDA through the members area of the website, using the username and password issued to all members. President of Hellenic Property Federation Mr. Stratos Paradias, is
the current President of the International Union of Property Owners (U.I.P.I.). Mr. Paradias was unanimously elected by the
representatives of all the National Organisations-members of UIPI as President
of the Executive Committee of UIPI.
The
more important everyday service of P.OM.ID.A. for its members is the
information office in the centre of Athens (15 Sofokleous street &
Aiolou), as well as smaller offices in all the big cities of country.
